This Baldwin baby grand piano has been in my family since it was purchased, new off the Santa Clara, Ca showroom floor, in September 1986. At 5'2", it has easily fit in our various homes. However, since my children do not play, and have no intention of, I have come to the point where I must let this beauty go.
You'll notice in the pictures a signature and date written in the piano. In August of 1986, composer Leonard Bernstein was in San Francisco, Ca performing. This piano was loaned to Mr. Bernstein for use in his hotel suite. According to my piano teacher at the time, they set up the piano in his suite and left a permanent marker and bottle of scotch. When they returned to pick up the piano, he had signed the inside and dated it "12 Aug '86." I do not have a certificate authenticating the signature.
Made in America, this is considered a desirable year for Baldwin pianos. It has seen little use over the last 15 or so years and is in need of servicing, including cleaning and tuning. It has always been displayed on an interior wall of our homes, away from the fluctuating temperatures windows and/or exterior walls can create. Being 32 years old, the finish is in good condition, but does have some dings and scratches.
This piano has only been moved by professional piano movers, and this last move will be no exception. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying shipping using insured piano movers.
