Sohmer was the most popular baby grand piano in America at the turn of the last century, and
this hundred-year-old instrument is remarkably well preserved. The cabinet is in good shape,
and tone is warm and rich, despite a small crack in the soundboard, which our piano technician
assures us is nothing to worry about. Although the keys and pedals still work well, the
technician recommends a new set of hammers, at a cost of about $700.

We have owned this piano for more than twenty years. The previous owner was a concert pianist who played it at home. Her parents sold it to us after her untimely passing, confident that we would give it a good home. We have, but now that our children are grown we’re looking pass it on to its next owner – someone who will value it as much as we have. We paid $3,000 including the bench, and we’re asking just $1,500, because of the work needed. In light of Covid concerns, we’re happy to show it to serious buyers only, please.
